Fortalice was one of five lucky Bolton charities chosen to receive a generous donation of £20,000 at the Box Power Charity Giving Event, which took place in November.
Box Power is a non-profit ethical energy company set up by local couple Corin and Tricia Dalby in 2014. Inspired by the support their son received from community services, Corin and Tricia founded Box Power to give back to local charities that provide long-term support to families like theirs.
This wonderful donation will help us to fund therapeutic sessions and outings to help families re-bond, heal relationships and understand each other’s experiences of domestic abuse. The programme will give families hope and strength for a more positive future together.
Fortalice Chief Executive, Gill Smallwood, attended the event to accept the donation. She was touched to hear the stories of previous recipients and the difference the funding has made to their charities.
Our heartfelt congratulations go to the other four local charities that were chosen to receive Box Power support: Bolton Hospice, Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Bolton CAMHS and Special Needs Under Fives Support.
Gill Smallwood, Fortalice Chief Executive said:
“The effects of domestic abuse can devastate families. Those in our refuge are often deeply traumatised. This wonderful donation from Box Power will fund therapeutic sessions and outings to help families re-bond and heal together, giving them the best possible chance of a positive future. On behalf of local survivors, our deepest thanks to Corin and Tricia.”
