Your generosity is changing the lives of domestic abuse survivors

Every penny we receive helps us to transform the lives of adults and children across Bolton who have experienced domestic abuse. Your valued support allows us to flex our services during times of crisis when they are most needed, such as during the Covid-19 pandemic when many domestic abuse victims were trapped in abusive homes with little or no means of escape.

How your donations make an impact

• £10 could buy toiletries for a family moving into our refuge
• £15 could pay for a call to our advice line to offer crisis support
• £20 can provide a welcome pack of food and cleaning materials for a family seeking refuge
• £30 could provide a session of online therapy for a child affected by domestic abuse
• £50 can support delivery of an art therapy session, helping survivors to process their experiences

Our impact

Every year, we help around 750 local children and young people deal with the effects of domestic abuse. We educate many more through our healthy relationships work in schools.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, our live webchat and our 24-hour advice line has continued to provide guidance and support. Virtual counselling and therapy sessions have been offered to local women and children.

Our 10-week Freedom course, for women survivors, offers group support to 225 local women each year. The programme helps them to understand their situation and move forward with their lives.

Each year we provide around 2,000 counselling appointments to women and children affected by domestic abuse.

Last year, the 22 flats in our Lewis House refuge provided 207 places for women and children escaping domestic abuse.
