Fortalice is working around the clock to ensure that services remain open during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
Please note that whilst restrictions are tightening, victims of domestic violence are still actively encouraged to seek support and it is within the law to do so.

We urge any victims who require our service to make contact as soon as is safely possible and to follow general safety planning advice. This includes carrying a fully charged mobile phone on your person. If you feel you are in immediate danger you must call 999, if you are in danger and cannot voice your concerns, you can call 999 and press 55, this will signal to the operator that you need help but are unable to speak.
Our Refuge, currently providing a safe place for 22 victims and 37 children, remains open and has introduced all possible precautionary health measures including social distancing, self-isolation and additional cleaning routines. Staff have access to the most up to date and accurate information on COVID – 19, including the Government guidance written specifically for Refuge accommodation. We are sharing this with our residents and clients to ensure that everyone has the right information and are supported to act on it.
The welfare of victims in Bolton who require our service remains our utmost priority. Our Outreach Support Centre is closed for face-to-face work but we are continuing to operate utilising different ways of working. Open services currently include the IRIS service, phone support, providing advice and guidance for victims, telephone Counselling, Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA) and our Children and Young People’s services. Our Freedom programme is operating virtually.
